This specific flowering dogwood tree (Cornus florida) is one of my very favorites in late April (yes, I have lots of favorite trees — so what?).  It’s right next to the exit of one of the many buildings where I work, and in the spring becomes just an utter cloud of creamy white blossoms — especially pretty when back-lit by the morning sun.

Each year I eagerly look forward to the day when I can just stand at this spot for many minutes at a time, and absorb the warmth and peaceful beauty that permeates that special area.
