This image was taken looking up inside one of the tiny corner towers at the fort, though I have no idea if this is how they originally looked or if there were once some internal structures to allow a sentry to view through the windows during guard duty. Either way, it was a fascinating place to visit.
This was taken shortly after we brought these two little scamps home two years ago; now the ginger kitty is around 12 pounds and the darker one in the background is pushing 15 pounds. Big cats! And utterly delightful to be around.
If you’re a train buff, here’s a treat — a “Little Joe” electric locomotive on static display in beautiful downtown Deer Lodge, Montana. There were only 20 of these ever built, so they’re tough to find. Wikipedia has an excellent page on them here.
